Back in 2010, LED track lights were a rarity in the lighting market. The few options available relied on high-power 1W or 3W light sources, which delivered low luminous flux and central light intensity—nowhere near the performance of traditional halogen lighting. That same year, SHARP launched its Zenigata series COB, and I knew that the era of LED lighting had truly arrived. But a critical question remained: what type and size of fixture should we develop?

To directly replace the halogen lamps, the best strategy was to study their dominant styles and specifications. Since our primary export market was Europe, we started our first market research trip to Europe in 2010, which included attending the Frankfurt LIGHTING+BUILDING exhibition. At that time, the show was dominated by all kinds of decorative lighting, with barely any LED commercial lighting on display. So we traveled to major European cities like Berlin, Hamburg, Milan, and Paris to conduct on-the-ground research in local lighting markets.

After visiting many stores across these cities, we identified a clear and consistent trend: nearly all commercial spaces used halogen fixtures, specifically in the RT105 track light form factor. In that moment, we had our clear answer. As soon as we back to China, we immediately began to design and tooling, and launched production and promotion of the RT105 series track light. This product went on to achieve great success in Germany, France, Italy, and other markets, and we completed numerous large-scale lighting projects for clothing chains, supermarkets, for example:
